Real Hope for Africa!

Africa is a continent endowed with abundant resource as a matter of fact there's no other place with such great natural resource as Africa.
My country Uganda is completely covered with minerals and natural resources all over, not only minerals; Uganda has some of the best climate and soils in the world. It is a nation easily capable of feeding the rest of Africa. With very fertile organic soils, you could accidentally drop as bean or maize seed somewhere and it will sprout into a plant that will yield some kind of fruit even without nurture, now that's how fertile this country is.
In spite of all the blessings Uganda seems to posses, there is rampant, untold poverty and suffering. It is one of the world's poorest countries with some of the poorest people in earth. Now that is a paradox - so rich yet so poor.
Why? I believe there one major contributing factor to this;
Ignorance -
I believe we suffer two levels of ignorance in Uganda, ie; primary ignorance and secondary ignorance which i believe are there only two types of ignorance so we are talking perpetual ignorance.
Primary Ignorance
- many Ugandan are unaware of their possessions
- many Ugandans are unaware of their surroundings
- many Ugandans are looking for help from abroad
- many Ugandans are unaccustomed to certain infrastructure and western type amenities.
Secondary Ignorance
- many Ugandans are aware of what they have but do not know what to do with it
- many Ugandans are willing for someone to start up something but not themselves
- many Ugandans are aware of their surroundings but it does not make any difference or mean anything whatever it is.
- many Ugandans are satisfied with a little success, they arrive the destination before they really start the journey
- many Ugandans live to the day, there's no thought given to tomorrow, it will take care of itself.
The list of issues with ignorance is unlimited, i believe that there's no amount of money that will ever change the state of affairs in Uganda. If people do not change on the inside, if their world view does not change, nothing else will bring change.
I have come to the conclusion that the problems in Uganda, in Africa or in any third world country are very similar and run in the same lines.
I must propose that to change a nation, the people must change, before there's ever any sort of funding, people have to be predisposed to utilize funding effectively otherwise its an endless cycle of funding and funding.
I therefore must say, fund the minds and fund the future, change the heart, and change the life. That's the way to go for Africa, change the hearts and minds of men, you will change the world view and revolutionize a great continent to a great .
